JOB Title: Activity worker
Terms of Employment: Permanent, Part Time, Day
Salary: $18.39 Hourly for 21.6 hours per week, Other Benefits, Mileage Paid, Dental Benefits, Life Insurance Benefits, Group Insurance Benefits, Pension Plan Benefits, As per collective agreement
Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible
Location: Kamloops, British Columbia (1 vacancy)
Skill Requirements:
Education: Completion of high school, Completion of college/CEGEP/vocational or technical training
Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certificate, First Aid Certificate
Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years
Languages: Speak English, Read English, Write English
Work Setting: Community health clinic or centre, Rehabilitation centre
Occupational Therapist Assistant Specific Skills: Prepare and maintain work materials and supplies, Assist patients in crafts or other activities as directed by occupational therapist
Physiotherapy Assistant Specific Skills: Lead group exercise or activity class
Additional Skills: Maintain records and inventories of supplies, Order supplies and equipment, Maintain inventory of equipment, Perform general clerical duties
Security and Safety: Bondable, Basic security clearance, Criminal record check
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Repetitive tasks, Physically demanding, Manual dexterity, Combination of sitting, standing, walking, Standing for extended periods, Walking, Bending, crouching, kneeling
Transportation/Travel Information: Valid driver's licence
Essential Skills: Reading text, Document use, Numeracy, Writing, Oral communication, Working with others, Problem solving, Decision making, Job task planning and organizing, Computer use
Other Information:General gardening and landscaping duties. 2 years experience working with people with disabilities required; preferably with people with mental heath issues. Human Service Worker Certificate required.
